Is the Post Office Open on Sunday?
USPS’s PO Box page says “hours vary by Post Office location” (the sentence is about PO Box access). The USPS pages we read print no single national Sunday schedule, and in past Decembers some USPS districts opened select Post Offices on Sundays. To check one office, use USPS Find Locations, the page USPS names in its releases. USPS says regular mail delivery occurs Monday through Saturday, with the exception of postal holidays. In the USPS lists for 2026 and 2027, no holiday is listed on a Sunday, but July 4, 2027 is a Sunday, and USPS lists Independence Day on Monday, July 5, 2027, marked with an asterisk that USPS explains with its rule for a holiday on a Sunday.
When we checked on November 4, 2026, the USPS pages named in Sources did not print one nationwide Sunday schedule for Post Offices, and they did not say in general that Post Offices are open or closed on Sundays. They printed Sunday hours only for individual Post Offices in past local releases. USPS is the authority on its own hours; confirm at usps.com or with your local Post Office.
