Does USPS Deliver on Sunday?
Not regular mail. In its FAQ “No mail delivery?”, USPS says regular mail delivery occurs Monday through Saturday, with the exception of postal holidays. The same USPS article says Priority Mail Express® mailpieces and Amazon parcels are the only pieces of mail eligible for Sunday delivery.
When we checked on November 4, 2026, the three USPS FAQ articles on this page carried the wording quoted here. USPS is the authority on its own services; confirm at usps.com or with your local Post Office.

What USPS says about Sunday delivery
Two USPS FAQ articles state the Sunday exception with slightly different wording, “eligible for Sunday delivery” in one and “delivered on Sunday” in the other. Both are shown.
“Regular mail delivery occurs Monday through Saturday, with the exception of postal holidays. Priority Mail Express® mailpieces and Amazon parcels are the only pieces of mail eligible for Sunday delivery.”
“Priority Mail Express® mailpieces and Amazon parcels are the only pieces of mail delivered on Sunday.”
Priority Mail Express on Sundays and holidays
The USPS Priority Mail Express Service article describes the service this way, and lists Sunday/Holiday Delivery for an additional fee among the options customers may select where available.
“Our fastest domestic shipping service, Priority Mail Express® (PME) delivers 7 days a week, 365 days a year (with limited exceptions) to most U.S. addresses and PO Box™ addresses with a money-back guarantee.”
“Sunday and holiday delivery available in many major markets for an additional fee.”
“Where available, customers may select the following options: Sunday/Holiday Delivery for an additional fee Hold for Pickup at the destination Post Office”
What the USPS articles do not say
The three USPS articles used on this page do not list the markets that count as “many major markets” for Priority Mail Express Sunday and holiday delivery. They do not say how Amazon parcels qualify for Sunday delivery.
For whether a Sunday option applies at a particular address, USPS and the local Post Office are the sources.
