“For filing a petition to classify status of a foreign national relative for issuance of an immigrant visa under section 204(a) of the Act. $675.”
Waivers and biometrics
8 CFR 106.3(a)(3) lists the fees that may be waived:
“Only the following fees may be waived:”
That paragraph does not name Form I-130 in the form lists in paragraphs (i), (ii) or (iv). Paragraph (iii) covers fees for certain filers, such as VAWA self-petitioners and applicants for T or U status. The I-130 entry in Form G-1055 does not show a separate biometric services fee.
Other forms have their own entries in 8 CFR 106.2 and Form G-1055, so their fees are not part of the I-130 amount.
How USCIS publishes its fees
8 CFR 106.2 lists the fee for each form, and Form G-1055 is the Fee Schedule USCIS publishes for filers. They agree on the amounts on this page. Form G-1055 states:
“The table below presents the fees, currently in effect, for all U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) forms.”
“Each application, petition, or request must be accompanied by the correct fee(s) unless you are exempt from paying the fee(s) or are eligible for a fee waiver. If the fee is incorrect, the application, petition, or request will be rejected.”
8 CFR 106.1(g) is the rule behind the online amounts:
“Unless otherwise provided in this part, the fee for forms filed online with USCIS, using the electronic system prescribed by USCIS, will be an amount that is $50 lower than the fee prescribed in § 106.2.”
What we checked
When we checked on November 2, 2026, the I-130 amounts above matched the eCFR text of 8 CFR 106.2 that was up to date as of October 29, 2026, and the Fee Schedule, Form G-1055 edition 10/26/26 (PDF last modified October 28, 2026). A fee change published after those dates is not reflected here.
Frequently asked questions
How much is the I-130 fee?
$675 on paper and $625 filed online, per Form G-1055 (edition 10/26/26). 8 CFR 106.2(a)(6) lists $675 for a petition to classify status of a foreign national relative for issuance of an immigrant visa under section 204(a) of the Act.
Why is the online I-130 fee lower?
8 CFR 106.1(g) says a form filed online with USCIS, using the electronic system prescribed by USCIS, will be an amount that is $50 lower than the fee in 106.2, unless the part says otherwise. $675 minus $50 is $625.
Is there a separate biometric services fee with the I-130?
The I-130 entry in Form G-1055 (edition 10/26/26) shows no separate biometric services fee, and 8 CFR 106.2(a)(6) does not mention one.
Can the I-130 fee be waived?
8 CFR 106.3(a)(3) begins its list with "Only the following fees may be waived:" and does not name Form I-130 in the form lists in paragraphs (i), (ii) or (iv). Paragraph (iii) covers fees for certain filers, such as VAWA self-petitioners and applicants for T or U status. Read 106.3 in full for your case.
Do other forms filed with an I-130 have their own fees?
The I-130 fee is the fee for the petition. Each other form has its own entry in 8 CFR 106.2 and in Form G-1055, so the fee for another form is not part of the I-130 amount.
What happens if the fee is wrong?
Form G-1055 says: "If the fee is incorrect, the application, petition, or request will be rejected." Check the amount against Form G-1055 on uscis.gov before paying.
