What the Federal Reserve lists show around New Year's Eve

The Federal Reserve Financial Services schedule lists New Year's Day on January 1 in 2026 and January 1 in 2027, and lists no closure on December 31. The Board's K.8 list shows the same dates.

New Year's Day 2028 falls on a Saturday, and the K.8 footnote for Saturday holidays lists Friday, December 31, 2027 as a day Federal Reserve Banks are open while the Board of Governors is closed. The footnote is quoted below.
