How this calculator works

The slab volume is length times width times thickness, after converting depth from inches to feet. Base volume remains visible before the allowance is applied.

The calculator divides the adjusted volume by the bag yield you enter and rounds up to whole bags. It does not treat a bag weight as a universal volume yield.

Material cost is rounded bag count times entered bag price; delivery and labor are then added. Labor is an editable project input, not a market-rate assumption or a structural recommendation.

Worked example

A 10 ft × 12 ft × 4 in slab contains 40.00 cu ft, or 1.481 cu yd, before waste. At an entered 0.60 cu ft per bag, the material quantity rounds to 67 bags.

Common questions

Does the total include installation?

Only the labor amount you enter is included. Add a project quote if you want labor reflected in the estimate.

Does this determine slab thickness or reinforcement?

No. It estimates quantity and entered costs, not structural suitability or code compliance.
