How this calculator works

Enter all hours in one total, then set the point where the tool begins applying the premium multiplier.

The tool treats hours up to the threshold as regular hours and the remainder as overtime hours.

It estimates gross pay as regular hours times the hourly rate plus premium hours times the hourly rate and multiplier.

The default 45-hour, $20 example splits into 40 regular and 5 premium hours, yielding $950 gross at 1.5 times.

For 45 hours at $20 with a 40-hour threshold and 1.5 multiplier, the estimated gross pay is $950.

What does time and a half mean?

In this estimator, it means the selected overtime hours are paid at 1.5 times the entered hourly rate.

Can I use another multiplier?

Yes. Enter the multiplier in your agreement or payroll policy, but confirm the rule that applies to your work.
