How this calculator works

Enter straight-time hours and overtime hours separately. The calculator multiplies regular hours by the hourly rate.

It multiplies overtime hours by the hourly rate and the selected multiplier, then adds both amounts for estimated gross pay.

For a simple $20 hourly example with 40 regular hours, 5 overtime hours, and a 1.5 multiplier, the estimate is $950 gross.

FLSA overtime rules apply by workweek and include coverage, exemptions, and regular-rate details that this calculator cannot decide.

Worked example

At $20 per hour, 40 regular hours pay $800 and 5 hours at time-and-a-half pay $150, for $950 gross.

Common questions

Does this show take-home pay?

No. It estimates gross wages before taxes, deductions, benefits, and other payroll adjustments.

Does this decide whether I qualify for overtime?

No. Coverage, exemptions, workweek definitions, contracts, and state or local rules can change the result.
